The Business Technology Services team within the Media Technology & Information Services (MTIS) group at HBO is responsible for the build and support of vital technology solutions supporting the scheduling, acquisition, processing, and distribution of HBO content.
The team partners with business units to enable the services required to deliver HBO’s premium content to domestic and global platforms, as well as third party partners by bringing together platform, software, data and business intelligence services. Our mission is to provide rock solid operations while defining and executing on the future business technology landscape leveraging Cloud and DevOpsSec.
We are looking for a Director – Media Architecture to create, evolve, and enable our Data and Analytics platform ecosystem. The senior leader is responsible for the value creation from the use of the organization’s data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem in partnership with business and technology partners. You will be responsible for value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and governance, and enterprise information policy.

This position will be based in New York City and report to the Vice President – Business Technology.
Drive the visualization, creation and evolution of our data and analytics platform.
Lead strategy, architecture and the development of data and analytics products.
Collaborate with peers in Research, Marketing, Finance, technology and digital products to prioritize, plan and release capabilities on time, budget and high quality.
Create, socialize and implement a systematic approach for enterprise information management to identify, prioritize and execute the data and analytics initiatives with clear line of sight to our evolving data driven business model.
Be a champion of data-driven, decision making culture.
Innovate with and expand the organization's insight, intelligence and analytics offerings, emerging approaches, skills and technologies
Research and develop new data solutions to bring to hear new and evolving capabilities
Partner with other key business and technology leaders to identify new kinds, types and sources of data throughout the organization.
Define processes for the effective, integrated, introduction of new data.
Owns and drives schedules and scope across functional product and business partners
Partner with data scientists to implement common data and analytics services.
Build and manage a team of product managers and architects.
12+ years’ experience in Big data, data warehousing, data science, insight, intelligence and analytics solutions preferably in the media industry preferred.
10+ years leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide programs, operating and influencing across the organization and within complex contexts preferred.
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Data Science preferred.
Proven track record of developing and evolving data and analytics capabilities in the cloud (preferably using AWS).
Experience in billing and commerce systems a plus.
Information Strategy and management consulting experience desired.
Proven data literacy – the ability to contextualize and bridge data discussions between business, executive and technology stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to drive technology and culture in alignment with business in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
Develop a framework for information and analytics maturity and integrate with business and technology at all levels.
Established track record of successful product management, including development and launch of new products delivering to market.
Must have a high level of energy and commitment.
